Miasma and Monsters Referee's Quickstart

Quickstart rules for acting as a Referee (aka GM or Game Master) in the Miasma and Monsters system.

This will act as a preview for the full release of the Referee Rules Repository which I hope to release in the coming months, hopefully before the end of Summer 2025.

This document will always be free to allow for easier access to the game.

It will largely focus on rules for creating and converting monsters for the system, magical items, generating Miasma and Sources of Evil, and creating a starting quest for your players.

The full document will include an expanded bestiary, more magical items, more Miasma effects, more Sources of Evil objects and effects, an expanded quest generator, and more detailed advice for running the game.

This contains some rudimentary tips on running the basics of an OSR style game, but I know there are better and more detailed resources for that so this and the full release will focus more on the features unique to Miasma and Monsters.

In addition, I hope to provide art for the full document, both public domain and illustrated by myself (NO AI!), for the benefit of your inspiration.
