This is a small dungeon written for the Miasma and Monsters TTRPG system by Goblin Pit Games. It is meant to be played with a minimum of 4 Level 1 PCs and is an immediate follow up to the Sacrifice at Mount Sampo adventure.
It can be run as a standalone dungeon easily, but it may be best experienced set within a campaign in the Sampo region. It contains some plot hooks your players may want to continue investigating such as the skeleton of the Titan King Uupraanos and The Hand of Malephia, an extremely powerful necromancer.
It also aims to be an introduction to the dungeon exploration gameplay loop. Cautious exploration should prove to be the ideal approach as opposed to kicking down every door and starting a fight with every creature they see. There are creatures within the dungeon that are not meant to be fought on fair terms; evading, tricking, and even bribing such foes is often the wiser plan. A few traps are included that guard the most precious of treasures, and there is a secret room literally hidden in the margins
Miasma and Monsters is proudly made without the use of AI, LLMs, or anything of the sort. All text was written by and for humans, along with all the art.
Aside from the editing and the cover art, this was all created by one person in their spare time. Any aspects that seem amateurish are not only due to learning new skills on the fly but intentional. Keeping a DIY spirit is something I enjoy doing, and I feel it adds a certain level of charm to the work. Hand-drawn maps are included within the text as well as provided as separate files so you can view them at any magnification you wish or print them out on full sheets of 8.5x11” paper (Letter format).
